Jackson Reece

Jackson Reece baby wipes are a product of Janet & Colin , mum and dad to Jackson and Reece Cordner.

Their story began back in 1999, when their son Jackson was born. He was a healthy bouncing baby. At eight months Jackson developed baby eczema. He became very unwell after using steroid cream which not only thins the skin but destroys the immune system. Soon they discovered that the alcohol present in many baby wipes compounded the condition. Their couldn't find alcohol free, herbal alternative wipes and returned to cotton wool and water. The combination of abrasive chemicals found in baby soaps together with the high levels of chlorine in water were making Jackson’s severe blistering and bleeding from nappy rash worse.

After years of exhaustive research and steadfast determination, worried parents successfully designed their own unique cleansing wipes that contain naturally occurring ingredients. Coinciding with the birth of their second son in 2003, Reece, the concept for Jackson Reece Herbal Wipes was born. The over whelming positive feedback they have received has made all the hard work worthwhile. Parents worldwide are grateful they can find a wipe that really makes a difference for children and adults with eczema and sensitive skin.

Manufactured in UK.

Jackson Reece Products

Jackson Reece wipes DO NOT CONTAIN any of the following:

* Alcohol - Alcohol appears in many cosmetics and skin care products. Stripping skin of its natural oil, alcohol dries out the skin and often causes redness, irritation and inflammation. Drying out the top layers of skin can also inhibit the natural ability to shed dead skin cells and to keep the pores open, which can lead to pore clogging.

* Parabens - Parabens are a group of commonly used preservatives found in many baby skincare products. They are widely used because of their ability to destroy bacteria that can form and grow in these type of products. It’s because they are strong and aggressive that they are another common irritant responsible for upsetting the natural balance of the skin. However, more worryingly they have recently been linked to the causes of breast cancer.

* SodiumLauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) - SLS and SLES are the most common chemical used in childrens toiletries to make them foam and cleanse. When rinsed off, the product will have cleaned the area but will have taken moisture from the top layers of skin. They are widely used by big manufacturers as they’re cheap and effective. In people with sensitive skin (prone to dermatitis, acne, eczema, psoriasis and chemical sensitivity), the drying property of these type of detergents can cause flare-ups of skin conditions or may aggravate existing conditions.

* Lanolin - A small percentage of the population has an allergy to lanolin.

* Phthalates - are chemicals that are often used in fragrances, lotions and shampoos that make scents and colours last longer. Some studies have shown the phthalates can change hormone levels and cause birth defects. Baby care products containing phthalates are a source of exposure to young babies and this can disrupt the reproductive system especially in boys.

* (MIT) Methylisothiazolinone - is a powerful preservative found in shampoos and toiletries. Studies have shown it can cause allergic reactions and irritation to the skin.

* Triclosan - is used to control the growth of bacteria in soaps and toiletries. It is regulated by the FOA and studies highlight cancer concerns.

* Propylene glycol - causes the skin to keep in moisture and prevents water from escaping, therefore reducing the skins moisture factor. Studies do not recommend propylene glycol for eczema sufferers.

* Petro Chemicals - petroleum derivates such as mineral oil, paraffin and propylene glycol that are commonly used in cosmetics.

* Benzoates - are often used to preserve cosmetics and as an antiseptic. They are thought to intensify the symptoms of asthma.

* Phenoxyethanol - has been banned by Eco Cert from January 2009. Eco Cert is a French based control and certification organisation recognised in over 80 countries.

* Soap - dries out the skin and can cause skin irritation.

Jackson Reece wipes CONTAIN:

Aloe Vera Aloe Vera: The leaves contain a gel which has an immediate healing effect on wounds and burns. The gel acts like a protective coating on the skin and accelerates the healing process. It is also a mild anaesthetic and relieves pain and itching. It increases the flow of blood and reduces inflammation, swelling and redness. Aloe vera is also beneficial for skin disorders such as psoriasis, acne and exzema. The gel acts as a moisturiser, removes dead cells and can reduce scarring. Aloe vera gels and sprays are also used in the relief of arthritic pain in the joints and muscles.

Tea Tree Australian aboriginals used tea tree leaves for healing skin cuts, burns, and infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area. Tea tree oil contains constituents called terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic and antifungal activity. Tea tree oil is commonly used as a treatment for acne, athlete's foot, dandruff and exzema.

Lavender There are many good reasons why lavender is in the Jackson Reece formula. It smells great, relaxing oil, which combats stress and has a healing effect and is useful for skin problems, wounds, insect bites and stings.

WaterThey at Jackson Reece think it’s important to filter water to a high standard to kill any harmful bacteria.
