Henna Black on natural hair, medium brown ( no bleach) will go nice black.  In other cases, black is usually used to darken other colors, especially shades of brown. If using black with other colors use around 10% black.

Black is a tricky color and when mixed in a bowl, will go blue if left for a while and can turn bleached hair green so do not mix a lot of black with other colors however on natural hair usually does not go green. Do not use on bleached hair.

Henna Black is not suitable for applying directly to grey hair on its own as it can sometimes give a bluish tint because it contains indigo. It is better to mix the black with the Brown Umber or apply a coat of Brown Umber first. The suggested percentage of Henna Black to mix with the brown umber is 10% to 25% black.

A small percentage of people’s hair will go orange very easily on their grey hair due to acidity levels in their hair, and will find that any of the shades will go orange on them except for the Henna Black shade. The Henna Black shade can sometimes be used to mix with another shade such as Brown Umber or Natural Brown to reduce the red or orange tint.

Umber Brown is the least gold color and is suitable for all brown colored hair and for grey hair. Umber brown is good for customers who do not want any gold highlights. It is a darker color than chestnut and natural brown. Umber brown works well on 50% grey hair but will not go dark on very grey hair.  It may require several applications to build up the colour to the desired depth.

Natural Brown is suitable for medium blonde and light brown hair and can be used on grey hair that is up to 100% grey hair. For the light brown and blonde hair, natural brown will give a shine and add some brown color.

For 50% to 60% grey will add brown color and cover the greys to a degree. The more application the better the coverage and the color will build up over time. For 80% grey, the color will be a blonde color and will look great.

Chestnut Brown is suitable for most colors except dark brown hair. On 50% grey hair it will give a blonde effect however it will not lighten but adds gold and gives an illusion of lighter hair.

Walnut Red Brown is nice on light brown hair to add a shine and some gold /copper color however usually does not add a lot of copper. Walnut Red-Brown adds gold /copper color to very strong coarse hair and can add copper to fine and grey hair.

Mahogany color is less red than Henna Red and is suitable for brown hair and adds red to brown color. The difference between Henna Red and Mahogany is that Mahogany has more black added. On grey hair ( white hair ) it will be bright red. The lighter the color the brighter the result.

Henna Red is suitable for most colors except for dark brown and white hair as white hair will go orange. For up to 50% grey, Henna Red will give a red brown color. For a darker color, apply henna red one day and black the next day. This is two separate applications and will give a red brown without any brassy color. Henna red over brown hair gives a red brown.

Sahara Blonde is more gold than Golden Blonde and the longer you leave it on the more color will be added to your hair which is the case for all henna's. Sahara blonde is suitable for blonde hair to add some gold color and can be applied to grey hair for a golden blonde color.

As the creams are mixed by machine, the colours tend to be slightly stronger than the powders and do cover grey quite effectively. The brown shades are more suitable for those with a lot of grey (in excess of 50%)

The Copper Blonde Colour Cream will often give a very light colour on the grey which is hardly noticeable unless you have naturally very light coloured hair. In this case you can mix it with nougat brown to give better coverage of grey.
