Hans Hansel, Chief Executive Officer of LOGOCOS AG, began his successful business career in 1975 in a  health food store in Hannover, in one of the first bio stores in Germany. In his studies he showed interest in skin problems caused by cosmetics. At that time, chemicals in cosmetics - and also in the food industry - were on the winning path. Negative effects of chemical substances on health have not been studied yet and were handled carelessly. The cosmetics natural ingredients gradually disappeared, chemical substances were cheaper. Hans Hansel with his friends decided to take a different path - to create beauty products without chemical composition - from purely natural resources. So firm Lorien Goods was founded, named after Tolkien's elves country.

Lorien Goods products were successfull. More and more people became interested in the issue of natural body care. Bio shops were becoming increasingly popular and Lorien Goods products were sold in each of them. In 1985, the company was forced by a court to change the name - apparently because of the similarity of the name with L'Oreal. So was the company LOrien GOods NAturkosmetik renamed to LOGONA Naturkosmetik.

Since then LOGONA products had a growing success. Under the brand LOGONA many innovative products were made, the first of their kind. Here are some examples:

* Know how and expertise in the field of natural cosmetics with the ability to completely abandon the synthetic preservatives
* the first purely herbal hair dye - without any synthetic additives
* the first natural shampoos, where only plant-based tenside were used
* the huge breakthrough to achieve bright shades of red with 100% pure natural colors
* the patented LOGONA cream hair color in the tube, without any synthetic additives
* the first anti-aging skin care line that has been certified with the seal "Certified Natural Cosmetics BDIH".

Today, after 30 years of experience, brand LOGONA produces about 200 products. The Company continues to place emphasis on the development of innovative recipes, examples are the new Logona facial care, the new Decorative natural cosmetics and 2012 the newly designed series and Logona Age Protection Logona MANN.

LOGOCOS Group, to which brand LOGONA belongs, employs up to 400 employees. The emphasis on ecology and bio is placed not only in the production of cosmetics. The local canteen for employees offers pure organic food, 98% of the offered products are organic. Excluded are just a few spices. Canteen cooks for the local kindergarten and primary school as well. In 2011 the company has been awarded  EMAS enviromental certification.
